Awakening Your Heart: Healing the World
“Virtually every spiritual tradition that holds a vision of human transformation at its heart also claims that a practice of intentional silence is a non-negotiable. Period. You just have to do it….there is a universal affirmation that this form of spiritual practice is essential to spiritual awakening.” - Cynthia Bourgeault
The Seton Cove offers five opportunities a week for the practice of intentional silence. In these groups we sit together not only to awaken and heal our own hearts, but also to help heal the world. There is a power and grace present when we sit together. At times we all feel helpless in the face of the pain and suffering present in our world; sitting in contemplative silence is one thing that we can do together to bring about change.
Mindfulness Meditation for Becoming a Peacemaker from the Inside Out“For the mindful leader getting to the cushion is how we cultivate the leadership talent of simplicity. When we literally sit down on the cushion, we stop ouraddiction to preoccupying ourselves. We gently set aside the distractibility and inner frenzy and express a willingness to experience the fresh immediacy ofour lives.” —Michael Carroll
Join us for a reflective reading on spirituality and leadership and 30 minutes of silent sitting meditation. All of us are called to be leaders in various aspects of our lives, so all are welcome in this group.

Contemplative Walks““There is a place where the town ends, and the fields begin. It’s not marked but the feet know it, also, the heart that is longing for refreshment and, equally, for repose.”~Mary Oliver
Nurture your soul with contemplative walks along Shoal Creek. Meet Judy Myers at Seton Cove on Saturday mornings for walking and contemplation. Take this time to experience, as Gerald May states, that “wilderness is not just a place; it is also a state of being – this inner wilderness is the untamed truth of which you really are.”
