**Tuesday Restoring Balance Luncheon

Is it possible to restore life balance over lunch? We’d like to think that such mindful changes can happen in small moments, so why not at lunch? Simple, rejuvenating practices will be shared and discussed with ample opportunity to practice. Facilitated by Seton and Seton Cove staff, these mind/body/spirit practices can help us all restore that much needed life balance.

Boxed lunch orders must be made by 12noon the Monday prior to each luncheon.  Please do not select a boxed lunch option less than 24 hours before the program; such orders cannot be fulfilled.

Tuesday Luncheons this Quarter:

Oct 22 - Changing Along with Change: Hypnotherapy for Life Transitions with Julia Aziz
Have you ever noticed how much you grow when everything changes? Beginnings and endings are some of the most poignant, uncomfortable, and spiritually challenging times in our lives. Transitions are also great opportunities for real shifts in patterns that have been going on a long time. This Tuesday's luncheon is an opportunity to experience gentle hypnotherapy for easing mental stress around change. Much like a deep meditative state, the healing potential of inner quiet will be used to access your own intuitive wisdom and clarity.

Oct 29 - Thierry-Clément Bignolet and Valérie Chaussonnet, Take a Respite in France at the Artist Talk
Thierry-Clement Bignolet and Valerie Chaussonnet, both French natives living in Austin, present the somewhat nostalgic and poetic vision of a timeless meeting between the natural and the human-made. This vision includes sculptures of our origins from primordial seas, of mysterious ladies and love letters that are reminiscent of architectural constructions, and photographs of spectacular architectural landscapes, paying homage to ancient builders and Mother Nature.

Nov 5 - Heroic Presence with Daniel Hope

Nov 12 - Letting Go: How Less Becomes More with Deborah Cole
The current trend toward "Minimalism" and "Tidying Up" is so much more than a clean closet or well organized kitchen cabinet. Letting go of old habits, old labels and releasing negative ways of thinking are essential before we can ever attract something better into our lives.  The pursuit and achievement of happiness is simple but not easy.  Through practical and effective daily practices we can achieve beyond what we thought possible.  All it takes is a willingness to think outside the box.

Nov 19 - Effortless Mindfulness with Will Boesl

Nov 26 - Reading Poetry Theologically: Introduction and Practice with Travis Helms
Poetry, through its artful use of sound and sense, communicates to the emotions as well as to the intellect, connecting with both the heart and head. In this introductory session, we will explore some preliminary thoughts about how poetry performs theology – “incarnates insight,” as poet and priest Malcolm Guite puts it – and then examine what that performance looks like in practice. Our close-reading will focus on pieces by the poet and theologian Christian Wiman (Professor at Yale Divinity School, and former Editor of Poetry Magazine). Wiman’s poetry grapples with difficult questions of faith (Wiman has lived for years with an incurable, unpredictable form of blood cancer), and often opens into surprising revelation. By attending to the theological insights embodied in Wiman’s poems, we will hope to gain a deeper appreciation of how poetry can aid us in our own lives as people of faith.

Dec 3 - Giving Your Way from Life to Legacy with Dr. Joy Selak
Using my recent novel, CeeGee's Gift, as a backdrop I will discuss how each of us are gifted and it is our purpose to discover and give our gifts. In the process we can create a legacy, even in life. CeeGee's Gift invites readers to share the friendship between a gifted young girl and a wise old man in a small town on the Texas Coastal Bend. As he helps her learn to share her 'Knowings' in a kind and generous way, they learn that if people have a chance to change direction, they can change their entire future--and their entire town.

Dec 10 - Unclogging Your Spiritual Blockages with Hillary Geisler
In this session, we’ll introduce three less-practiced spiritual disciplines that can help open up the areas where you feel closed or stymied. We’ll discuss the expression of Lament, the practice of Crying and the self examination of Resentments, modeling tangible methods for engaging these disciplines, individually and in community.

Don’t feel stalled on your journey at the moment? Join us anyway as these practices also have a way of deepening our spiritual experience no matter where we are.
