**Tuesday Restoring Balance Luncheon

Is it possible to restore life balance over lunch? We’d like to think that such mindful changes can happen in small moments, so why not at lunch? Simple, rejuvenating practices will be shared and discussed with ample opportunity to practice. Facilitated by Seton and Seton Cove staff, these mind/body/spirit practices can help us all restore that much needed life balance.

Boxed lunch orders must be made by 12noon the Monday prior to each luncheon.  Please do not select a boxed lunch option less than 24 hours before the program; such orders cannot be fulfilled.

Tuesday Luncheons this Quarter:

Jan 14 - The Artist’s Way: Recovering a Sense of Connection with Therese Morgan
The Artist's Way explores our relationship to creativity, and the blocks we form that stop us from engaging in it. In this Luncheon we will explore how to let perfectionism go, and recover a sense of connection with our true creative selves.

Jan 21 - Mindful Eating as a Spiritual Practice with Christina Wisdom
Mindful eating is about using mindfulness to reach a state of full attention to your experiences, cravings and physical cues when eating. It has little to do with calorie counts or diet plans and is more about awareness, being present and gratitude. Join us for this session as we slow down, explore the steps for mindful eating as a spiritual practice, and break bread together over the lunch hour.

Jan 28 - A Woman in the Desert: Finding Hope and Healing After Betrayal with Jenni Rochelle
Modern research now shows us that the experience of being betrayed can leave us with lasting trauma. We can feel like the world we once knew has been destroyed and we are now lost, alone and wandering in desert.  In order to find hope and healing from this experience, we must be committed to a trauma-informed and integrative approach that addresses not only our heartache but also the pain felt in our bodies, our minds and our souls.

Feb 4 - Into the Way Forward: Friendships For A Reason, Season and a Lifetime with Vivian Best
We all know how important friendship is, but we rarely talk about how to build new friendships and maintain meaningful and lasting friendships over the course of our lives.  Our lives are filled with technology that has made it more easy to stay connected, while at the same time, making it more difficult to connect meaningfully. Come join us for a discussion of friendships and for building your own personal action plan for creating and maintaining more meaningful connections in your life!

Feb 11 -  The Power of Polarities - Understanding Your Inner Opposite with John van der Steur
Self-understanding is the first step to personal effectiveness. Jung's personality typology is an excellent way to understand the polarities of your personality. People's behavior is not random, it follows patterns that Carl Jung called "Psychological Types". These patterns run deep, carving the rivers through which our lives flow. To develop our personalities, to become who we are meant to be is a life long task. Sooner or later life compels us to ask ourselves: Who am I? What makes me different? Where do I want to go? How do I get there?

Feb 18 - Initiating Dialogue with Paul O. Radde

Feb 25 - Finger Labyrinth Meditation with Will Boesl
We will explore how the labyrinth clears the mind and gives insight into the spiritual journey, how it urges action, calms us in the throes of life transitions, helps us to see our lives in the context of a path, a pilgrimage; and how it sparks the imagination, enlivens the intuitive part of our nature, and stirs within the human heart the longing for connectedness and the remembrance of our purpose for living. This event will also feature Austin musician, Will Boesl— whose skillful performance on the baritone ukulele will add to the reverent atmosphere and enjoyment of the afternoon.

Mar 3 - Ayurveda: The Dosha Dance
Learn the qualities of the 3 Dosha’s: Vata, Pitta, Kapha. In Ayurveda these Dosha’s are connected to Gunas (qualities) and the Elements. Everything is made of different qualities and elements. Learn the effects of these dosha’s on your mind, body and spirit and how to balance them, so we can live a balanced life throughout the seasons. We will discuss the qualities of each Dosha’s, how to balance them with yogic techniques so that we can enjoy a balanced life.

Mar 10 - Ethics and Accountability in Politics: A Covenant with 'We the People' with Carla Burzyk

Mar 17 - Pondering the Gift of Forgiveness with Deborah Franke

Mar 24 - The Rise of the Universal Superhero: Exploring the Metaphors Powering our Emerging Future with Daniel Hope

Mar 31 - If These Walls Could Talk with Ginger Geyer and Jennifer Cumberbatch
If These Walls Could Talk, the work of Ginger Geyer and Jennifer R. Cumberbatch, is a multifaceted project of contemporary art and performance in dialogue with the Neill Cochran House Museum, (NCHM), an antebellum, Greek Revival mansion at 2310 San Gabriel steps from the UT campus. Ginger Geyer’s trompe l’oeil porcelain sculptures (see gingergeyer.com) will focus on the intersection of the lives of the White residents of the mansion and the lives of Black slaves sold to finance its construction and slaves who served the house, lived and worked in the rock house slave-site on the property (the only former slave dwelling and work space still standing in Austin), as well as the lives of the post-slavery servants, some of whom lived in nearby, now defunct, Freedman community, Wheatville.
