“Emotions provide a much better gateway to the spiritual dimension of our lives than beliefs.” -Psychology Today
Emotions can be the a great spiritual teacher.. In the disguised form of fear, sadness, grief, disappointment, frustration, anger, guilt, shame, envy, jealousy, lust, loneliness, euphoria, and so on, emotions represent an enormous energy that wells up in us, pointing back to the True Self as the source and substance of this energy. How we recognize, feel, flow with, live, and express this energy makes a huge difference in our spiritual lives.
This session will allow for an in depth focus on these themes. Art-making and writing will afford an artistic review of participants’ most current emotions from both positive and negative views, provide an opportunity to visually identify spiritual supports and resources, and explore representations of how one can respond to emotions moving forward.
Basic art materials provided but participants are welcome to bring their own additional drawing and collage supplies if desired. No previous art experience required, only an openness to creative expression and self-discovery.
