Come gather ‘round the table and roll up your sleeves, for it’s time to learn the art of mindfully and joyfully preparing healthy, mouth-watering plant-based meals! Have you made a New Year’s Resolution to nourish your body-temple by feeding it better, but need some guidance? Discover simple solutions to making wholesome dishes, easy ways to incorporate healthy habits in to your busy life, and how to develop a love affair with vibrant Earth-given foods. This workshop will include demonstrations, hands-on instruction, nutrition guidance, preparing food in teams, recipes to take home, a fun and supportive atmosphere, and a family-style feast. Experience greater confidence and creativity in the kitchen, incorporate world cuisine in to your everyday, and discover the skills to create a lifetime of health. Just bring an apron and your favorite vegetable-chopping kitchen knife and we’ll transform the Cove classroom and create magic together in the kitchen!

Avril Amaya is a plant-based chef, recipe author, and health coach. She has been practicing and sharing food-as-medicine for over five years, working with individuals, teaching workshops, groups, and chefing at international retreats. She serves private clients in Austin to heal dis-ease of the mind, body, and spirit using real foods and reverence for the source of our nourishment. Previously, she served as a lab and research associate at Rockefeller University and was an Intel International Science Fair finalist before spending many years traveling and studying the Eastern healing arts and contemplative traditions, where she discovered her deep love for nature and all of its creatures. Equipped with a Harvard degree and a high-speed blender, Avril is passionate about sharing the benefits of a fruit-and-vegetable-based lifestyle and spreading health and happiness through deep connection to Self and Nature.
