Avril Amaya is a plant-based chef, recipe author, and health coach. She has been practicing and sharing food-as-medicine for over five years, working with individuals, teaching workshops, groups, and chefing at international retreats. She serves private clients in Austin to heal dis-ease of the mind, body, and spirit using real foods and reverence for the source of our nourishment. Previously, she served as a lab and research associate at Rockefeller University and was an Intel International Science Fair finalist before spending many years traveling and studying the Eastern healing arts and contemplative traditions, where she discovered her deep love for nature and all of its creatures. Equipped with a Harvard degree and a high-speed blender, Avril is passionate about sharing the benefits of a fruit-and-vegetable-based lifestyle and spreading health and happiness through deep connection to Self and Nature.
