We are in our fifth month of the pandemic, dealing with its grief and loss and faced with radical social injustice-- all in the midst of a presidential election. One of the best ways to make sense of it all is through writing and one of the most inspiring guides for “living with meaning, truth and kindness” is spiritual teacher and poet, Mark Nepo. Nepo’s new book, The Book of Soul: 52 Paths to Living What Matters, provides ample inspiration for discussion and prompts for writing. Nepo writes in the introduction to this book, “It seems the purpose of suffering is to exhaust us of our differences, and the purpose of love is to awaken us to how we’re at heart the same.” Please join me as we take a focused 45 minutes to discern who we are and what our work is during this time of transformation.
