Ordinary Mystics

”If you’re listening, if you’re awake to the poignant beauty of the world, your purpose is to burst open again and again so that [you] can hold ever more wonders.” ~Andrew Harvey
When most of us think of the mystics, we picture the life and teachings of people like Rumi, Hildegard of Bingen, Black Elk, or Mary Oliver. While we have much to gain by drawing from the wisdom of these great mystics, we often overlook the mystics in our midst— Ourselves! Each of us is a mystic, or at least we have the potential to be. This discussion will explore the key elements of mysticism. We will navigate together what it means to realize our own mystical potential and awaken to the deep well of loveliness within and the vast beauty around us.
