Six Essentials for a Creative & Healthy 21st Century Church

“Time is running out. If churches don’t start making changes, we will soon see more empty church buildings.”  -Thom S. Rainer, President, Christian Resources

According to the Christian Post, 3,500 people leave the Church every day. Most millennials have given up on church—and many of them—for all the right reasons.
The traditional church, preoccupied with survival, often does not speak to the values important to the younger generation:
Divinity is everywhere
Liberation begins on the margins

Speak mythologically

Beloved Community comes through authenticity, courage, and kindness

There’s a fountain flowing deep and wide

Many wells, one river

How do you build that kind of community? Rev. Dr. Sid Hall, lead minister at Trinity Church of Austin for the last 31 years, and author of Christian Antisemitism and Paul’s Theology and co-author (with Jim Harrington) of Three Mystics Walk Into A Tavern, seeks to articulate the six anchors required to birth a creative and healthy
21st century church.
