Music can have a calming effect on the brain, especially when people are facing a stressful situation. Join wife, mother, lawyer, health and wellness activist, and humanitarian Sandra Foreman. She will lead an interactive class that involves listening, enjoying, and discussing the messages, themes, and lyrics to inspirational and spiritual songs. The class will also include brief journaling activities in response to each song.

Sandra Foreman has is a health and disability lawyer of 23 years. Sandra received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from the University of Texas at Austin; and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, in Cleveland, Ohio. After practicing in various areas of health law, such as correctional health care, social security disability, and veteran’s disability, Sandra returned to law school to obtain her Masters of Laws (L.L.M.) in Health Law at the University of Houston Law Center. After overcoming burnout and fatigue, she obtained yoga teacher certification from Yoga Yoga, in Austin, Texas, and completed a health coaching certification program through the Health Coach Institute. In 2016, she founded The Spa in Me, LLC, which plans an annual self care retreat for women. The purpose of the retreat is to offer strategies to women to help them de-stress and give them time to focus on their own needs. The goal is to create compassionate communities where attendees connect with themselves and other women, refresh their spirit, eat nourishing foods, and, most importantly, learn to enjoy their own company.
