There are numerous ways to define “spiritual intelligence”, and thus numerous ways of assessing it. Cindy Wigglesworth has devised one such assessment which is an excellent overview of the process of general spiritual intelligence itself, including developmental variables—and thus one I can highly recommend.
—Ken Wilber, Integral Institute
Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) is “the ability to behave with wisdom and compassion, while maintaining inner and outer peace, regardless of the situation.” It is composed of 21 skills which can be assessed and developed.
The SQ21 Spiritual Intelligence Assessment, created by Cindy Wigglesworth, is a faith-neutral yet faith-friendly self-assessment that helps people see where they are using the 21 skills of Spiritual Intelligence. The SQ21™ has been carefully created and tested for construct validity and reliability. It has been cross-correlated with another respected Harvard Instrument and it is a wonderful tool for leadership development.
Seton Cove is now offering this assessment tool to the community. After registering with the Cove, you will receive a link directing you to the SQ21™ online assessment. You will answer a series of questions, submit your answers and receive a 20 page report by email that defines and assesses your level of development for each of the 21 skills which include:
- Awareness of one’s own worldview
- Complexity of inner thought
- Awareness of the interconnectedness of life
- Keeping your Higher Self in charge
Additional coaching to debrief the report and develop a personal action plan is included with the assessment. These tangible skills can be learned through practice and developed through clearly-defined levels.
